The 2022 sectional champion Connersville Spartan baseball team will be in regional action today in Huntingburg as they take on the Silver Creek Dragons in search of further postseason success.
After winning their first sectional title in 12 years, the Connersville Spartan baseball team will play in the first round of the Shortridge regional today in Huntingburg. The Spartans drew the Silver Creek Dragons, who emerged victorious from the Madison sectional.
The 27-6 Dragons were the Mid-Southern Conference champions are averaging 9.2 runs per game this season on offense, and are giving up 2.3 runs per game defensively. Connersville’s 12-16-1 record belies how competitive this team was throughout the year. The Spartans have pitching and defense good enough to play with most any team, and their play on the field is not reflected in their season record.
