GREENSBURG — In a game that showed this year’s team is highly motivated to win, the Connersville Spartans suffered a loss at the Greensburg Pirates (2-1) Friday night 28-21.

They came only a few key plays short of pulling a big conference upset. With 6 minutes, 24 seconds left, the young CHS offense took the field following a strip by Peyton Rowland and a recovery by Brayden Jones of Pirate QB Toby Brogan. Taking possession on the Pirate 47-yard line, down 7 points, sophomore QB Gavin Pearson came on the field with plenty of time to drive his team down the field to tie the game up.
