The Fayette County Food Council would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people and community organizations for their help with our successful distribution of over 1,200 boxes of food for our local veterans and veteran's organizations. Thank you to Gleaners and Jeff McDonald for helping make this distribution happen for us, to Doug and Jessica Burton, MAD Technical Services, Fayette Tool, Dustin Black, and Bo Day for bringing in a forklift, pallet jack, and workers to off load the over 1200 food boxes onto the K-Mart parking area, to the Amvets, VFW, and American legion and their volunteers who came to help get these boxes of food to individuals and into cars, and especially to the volunteers and leaders of the Fayette County Food Council who are regular workers at most of our food distributions. Without these folks and agencies, this event would not have happened. We have been fortunate to be able to be involved in the Farms to Families Food Box distributions, sponsored by the USDA, since July. This opportunity is coming to a close at the end of October. Your Food Council will continue to work in the community with agencies who provide food in a variety of ways to work to help our community be food secure. Many people have joined the Food Council. We would like to see more folks come out to volunteer at our distributions. If you would like to provide financial assistance for our efforts, please send a check to Fayette County Community Voices, PO Box 928, Connersville, IN.
