For the first time in over a decade, senior walkers and pickleball patrons are being turned away from public use of Miller Gym unless they rent the facility by the hour.

A Feb. 28 Connersville Parks & Recreation Board recommendation requires deposit and advance rental payments from seniors and other taxpayers who wish to exercise in Miller Community Center, a public building, but provides many exceptions for city-sponsored events, city department heads, and non-profits. City Council established the recommendations as an ordinance on July 5.
