James Minhinnett, 59, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020, with his family by his side.

Jim was born Feb. 28, 1961, in Mansfield, Ohio, moving to Connersville in 1966, where he was active in baseball and football. He moved to Farmington Hills, Michigan, where he graduated from North Farmington High School.

In 1980, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Sharon (Curtis). They were married in 1986, celebrating 34 years of marriage just days before his death.

He is survived by his wife and two children, Lindsay (Holbrook) and James III; his mother, Linda; his brothers, Steven, David and Peter; and his sister, Jennifer; grandchildren Halie, Mollie, Willow, Scarlet, James IV and Riley.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Scarlet; his father, James Sr.; his sister, Lee Ann; and grandparents.

There will be a celebration of life Saturday in Rockwall, Texas. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to any Cancer Research Center of choice.

Jim is now sitting on a bench, holding “Charlie” while his dad holds Lee Ann. They are talking football, of course.
