Kiwanis talent show seeking acts

BROOKVILLE — The Brookville Kiwanis is seeking acts for its annual Talent Show, which will be at 7 p.m., Friday, March 9, at the Franklin County High School auditorium.

Top acts as determined by three judges will receive monetary prizes. All proceeds will return to Franklin County students in the form of college scholarships for two or three deserving seniors.

The Talent Show is open to all Franklin County students, who may pick up entry forms from their school counselor or front office. Also this year, the Kiwanis welcomes faculty to enter as a group or solo act. The winning faculty group will earn a prize of $100 to use as they wish for their participating school.

Admittance to the event is $5 per person and the doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Rehearsals for the Talent Show will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at the auditorium. Entrants should have their music and acts ready.

Last year more than 20 young people entertained in four categories. Hundreds of parents, grandparents, family members, and friends attended the show which featured singers, dancers, and musicians.

The Brookville Kiwanis has hosted the annual Talent Show for more than 20 years. It is a Franklin County tradition. Acts are judged on presentation, appropriate dress or costume, performance quality, showmanship, poise/confidence, originality, and crowd appeal.

For information call Kimberly Beckman, 513-593-2346, or Stacey Loos Johnson, 513-545-4699.

The Brookville Kiwanis meets at Brookville Arby’s every first and third Tuesday night. Dinner is at 6 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6:30.
