The sound of screw guns and the smell of paint harken the arrival of Imagine Performing Art’s next production, “Oliver!”. This classic musical based on the timeless Dickens’ novel “Oliver Twist”, is a romp through 1850’s England as the title character finds himself in a workhouse, then sold to an undertaker. From there he runs away and finds a kind of “family” with the beggars and thieves who apprentice under the kind but criminal Fagin. A chance mishap lands Oliver to the wealthy home of the Brownlows where other twists and turns bring our story to head. Toe-tapping music is the signature of this show with songs that you will be singing for years to come.

The IPA team acquired the rights to produce Oliver! just prior to the pandemic shutting down events where crowds would gather. Music Theater International kindly postponed the show dates in the contract so it could be presented in Fayette County Nov. 18-20, 2022. The Fayette County Foundation also played a part in bringing the show to life with a generous grant to help with all of the costs of a musical of this size.
