During a brief Connersville City Council meeting Monday evening, councilwoman Diana Phillips was declared president of City Council, replacing current president David Nutty.
“My main goal is to assist the mayor as much as I can,” Phillips said. “All of our goals on the council are basically the same, me becoming president doesn’t make me anymore powerful than anyone else on board. I am honored to do it, this is my fourth term, not consecutive. I have been serving in the council for 14 years.”
