Girl Scouts collecting plastic lids for a bench

Girl Scouts in Troop 1808 are collecting plastic lids and bottle caps that they willturn in to be recycled and made into a bench that will be donated to the community. Girl Scout Troop 1808 is collecting plastic lids for the purpose of recycling and repurposing into “Buddy Benches.” The troop is in the process of collecting 800 pounds to convert into two benches that will be donated to the community.

The troop is collecting plastic caps and lids from medicine bottle, drink bottles (pop, Gatorade, juice), milk jugs, flip-tops, detergents, spray paint cans, hairspray, ointment tubes, toothpaste tubes, coffee creamer, cottage cheese and sour cream, Cool Whip containers, mayonnaise jars, coffee cans, yogurt, cream cheese containers, peanut butter jars, butter containers, and ice cream bucket lids. Also, caps or lids with recycle number 2, 4 or 5. 

Drop off locations are at the Union Savings & Loan, First Financial Bank, BAM Fitness and Connersville Veterinary Clinic.
