Dining for Dollars: At both locations of Pizza King, 2512 Western Ave. and 637 E. 5th St., 11 a.m.-midnight, Friday, Nov. 29 with 10 percent of the proceeds going to the Hope Center.

Operation Christmas Child: Collection of shoeboxes filled with gifts for children, Nov. 18-25 at First Baptist Church, 1211 Grand Ave. Contact the church office at 765-825-5921 for drop-off times.

Kalico Kupboard: There will be no Kalico Kupboard this year at Central Christian Church and New Hope Tabernacle.

Coffeehouse worship: Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. at Brian’s Bistro & More, 408 Central Ave. Led by First United Methodist Church Pastor Frank Oakman, it is a time of discussion, sharing and Bible study.

Community Thanksgiving Service: 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at New Heights Christian Church, 2752 W. Indiana 44. First Baptist Church Pastor Mal Gibson will speak. Sponsored by Fayette County Ministerial Association, 

For the curious: The Alpha Course is offered at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the John Miller Community Center in Roberts Park. Alpha is to give people who are curious about the Christian faith a safe environment to ask questions. The evening will consist of a meal followed by a short teaching about an aspect of the faith, followed by questions, answers and conversations. Each meeting is 6:30-8 p.m.
