Auto insurer files a rate reduction

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. has reduced its overall Indiana auto rates by 2 percent.

The total state-wide expected impact for State Farm Mutual by this rate decrease in Indiana will be approximately $16.7 million. This reduction added to others in recent years totals 15 percent.

“The financial position of State Farm and current business and economic conditions in the marketplace were important factors, among many, that supported our decision to make this rate change,” Rob Stewart, State Farm senior vice president, said.

Overall changes in premiums for individual motorists will vary depending on an individual customer’s policy and chosen coverages. The effective date for new and renewal business is Sept. 9.

For information, contact a local State Farm agent.
