Patriot’s Day Service: A service in remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks will begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 1211 Grand Ave. After a short period of prayer, groups will visit first responder locations to present the employees with cookies and then pray for them and their efforts to make the community safer.

For the curious: The Alpha Course will be offered at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday at the John Miller Community Center in Roberts Park, 2900 Park Road. Alpha is to give people who are curious about the Christian faith a safe environment to ask questions. The evening will consist of a meal followed by a short teaching about an aspect of the faith, followed by questions, answers and conversations. Block party: Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1501 Indiana Ave., is hosting a community block party from 2-5 p.m. Sept 7 on 15th Street in front of the church, which will be blocked off for the event. There will be a bounce house, cotton candy, snow cones, hot dogs and games. The community is invited.

Bentonville Christian Church: Sunday worship service at 10 a.m., Manlove Park, 6632 N. Manlove Park Road.

Bible Study Fellowship: BSF resumes Tuesday classes for women from 6:30-8 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 701 W. 3rd St. This year’s study will be Acts and the Letters of the Apostles. Biker rally: Crosspointe Biker Church, 1130 E. Baseline Road, Sept. 13-15. Bike ride, rodeo, bonfire, food and music. $10 for the weekend.

Sportsman Banquet: Baptist Temple, 1390 E. 5th St., 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, with Clay Dyer, a professional sport bass fisherman. Presentations by professional fishermen, taxidermists, Indiana Conservation Officers and businesses that specialize in outdoor activities. Tickets are $10.

Brianna’s Hope-A Better Life: meets in Connersville at Crosspointe Biker Church on Tuesdays and First United Methodist Church on Saturdays; in Cambridge City at The River Assembly of God on Thursdays; and at Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church in Liberty on Tuesdays. Each meeting is 6:30-8 p.m.

BetterDayz Thru Jesus Christ: Addiction/incarceration recovery meeting at 5 p.m. Mondays at First United Methodist Church, 729 Central Ave. Visit the Facebook page for more information.
