So much to learn

Fayette Co. Ministerial Assn.

Most all of our schools are back in session now and another generation continues to learn and grow. My son began pre-school this year (granted, in our basement; he is homeschooled) and he is already learning his colors, shapes, numbers, and letters. I come home every day from work and he proudly shows me what he has made and tells of all he has learned; it is truly a joy to see a child learning. Certainly many of you proud parents and grandparents can relate!

As the school year truly gets underway I encourage us all to be in prayer for our students, but also for all of our teachers, administrators, support staff, custodians, cafeteria workers, bus drivers and everyone associated with our many fine schools here in Fayette County and surrounding areas. Education is so important as we work to prepare the next generation to grow and go out into the real wold.

At the same time I encourage all of you to never stop learning. I learn something new every day! God is great in that way. This world is so beautiful and complex there is always something new to amaze and astound.

God reveals Himself to us through all of creation. Psalm 19:1 tells us, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” As fine as all of our schools are, with all of their teachings, there is no greater teacher than the Lord Jesus and there is no greater textbook than His Word the Bible. I encourage you this week to spend some time in prayer for all of our students and school employees, and then take a little time yourself to learn about God in His Word.

Truth be told, we all have so much to learn!
