Usher in the fall season with a farm-to-table dinner at the Huddleston Farmhouse Inn this month with Indiana Landmarks and the Whitewater Valley Arts Association.

Each summer, Indiana Landmarks hosts events showcasing historic proprieties and small-town Indiana.

From 6-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, Landmarks will be hosting a celebration in partnership with the WVAA. The event, “Wine Down on the Farm” will be at the Huddleston Farmhouse Inn in Cambridge City. It will celebrate local heritage, food, wine and artistry. There will be work from artists from the New Richmond Group and members of the WVAA. There will be opportunities to make crafts and demonstrations on glass blowing.

Plein air artists from the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association will be at work on the grounds and selling their paintings of the site along with other reasonably priced works. Craftsmen will construct rustic willow furniture on site, offering opportunities for those attending to learn the art.

“There will be paintings from our permanent collection hanging in the house and also several members of the WVAA will be doing plein air,” WVAA President Sharon McQueen said.

A harvest meal will be prepared prepared by local chef Jen Ferrell with regionally sourced meat and produce.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this event; absolutely, you won’t want to miss it. We are so excited to be a part of just a great evening,” McQueen said. “The Huddleston Farmhouse is such a beautiful venue, it will be great to see what the evening brings.”

The Huddleston Farmhouse is located at 838 National Road (U.S. 40).

Tickets cost $35 for Indiana Landmarks members or $50 for the general public. They may be reserved online at winedownonthefarm19.eventbrite.com or by calling 317-639-4534.
