Accidents

A Ford Ranger driven by Robert S. Frederick, Hamilton, Ohio, and a Ford Transit driven by Mischell, L. Roberts, 204 Kehl St. Apt. 1, were involved in an accident Saturday in the 1200 block of East 5th Street, Connersville Police Sgt. Brian Evans said.

A Dodge Charger driven by Ryan C. Russell, 1910 Ohio Ave., and a Hyundai Azera driven by Gregory A. Marvel, 4978 Alquina Road, were involved in an accident Friday at Park Road and 27th Street. Fayette County Emergency Medical Services transported Marvel to ReidHealth Connersville, CPD Lt. Craig Hamilton said.

A Honda CX5 motorcycle operated by Adam F. Conn, 1812 Vermont Ave., and a Dodge Ram driven by Judith L. Roberts, 110 Huston St., were involved in an accident Friday on West 30th Street at Iowa Avenue. Conn died as a result of his injuries, CPD Officer Josh Durstine said.

David K. Hayes, Muncie, lost control of a Harley-Davidson FLH motorcycle after hitting two potholes along the side of Western Avenue at West County Road 300-N. Wednesday. Fayette County Emergency Medical Services transported Hayes to Mettel Field to be flown by helicopter to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, CPD Capt. Chris Scott said.

Arrests

Jessie L. Gross, 35, Bath, was arrested Monday at the Franklin County Security Center by Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Transportation Officer Ryan Young on warrant charges of possession of a syringe, possession of methamphetamine and driving while suspended. Gross was lodged in the Fayette County with no bond amount listed.

Odies O. Cothern III, 50, Indianapolis, was arrested Sunday in Marion County by Jail Officer Jeremy Crafton on a warrant charge. Cothern was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $7,500 bond.

Jessie A. Ellis, 24, 3313 Central Ave., was arrested Sunday at his residence by CPD Officer Kyle Miller on a charge of disorderly conduct. Ellis was lodged in FCJ with no bond.

Randy J. Jackson, 48, New Castle, was arrested Sunday at the Wayne-Fayette county line by FCSD Deputy Dan Becker on a warrant charge. Jackson was lodged in FCJ with no bond.

Troy D. York, 24, 1212 W. 12th St., was arrested Saturday at his residence by CPD Lt. Kevin Perry on a warrant charge. York was lodged in FCJ with no bond.

Debra K. Rose, 56, 1889 E. Indiana 44 Apt. 79, was arrested Friday on Alquina Road by Indiana State Police Trooper Aaron Bowers on a charge of resisting law enforcement. Rose was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $7,500 bond.

A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested Thursday by Miller on a charge of battery.

Weslee M.R. Jenkins, 28, Colony Court Apt. 12, was arrested Thursday in the 1000 block of East 5th Street by FCSD Detective Chad Blaes on a charge of dealing in methamphetamine. Jenkins was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $30,000 bond. Deputy Becker arrested Jenkins on charges of dealing in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. Jenkins was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $30,000 bond.

Blotter

CPD reported one overdose, one suspicious person and one Operation Pull Over violation Monday.

David W. Hall, 119 E. 4th St., reported Sunday his cellphone had been taken from his residence, CPD Officer Joe Becker said.

An employee of Gillman’s Do It Best Center, 505 E. 5th St., reported Sunday a male tried to have four $100 bills cashed. In the course of discussion and the man’s request to purchase a gift card, too much cash was returned, CPD Officer Joe Tudor said.

CPD reported three citizen assists, two animal issues, one alarm response, two verbal arguments, one juvenile issue, one unwanted subject and one medical call Sunday.

Matt Cressy, 2604 Virginia Ave., reported Saturday he saw a female ride away from the Family Dollar Store on East 5th Street with his neon green 20-inch bicycle, Joe Becker said.

Kimberly Chapman, 2912 Ohio Ave., reported Saturday that a black pickup truck struck the mirror on her truck and left the scene, Tudor said.

Officer Miller responded Saturday to the 12th Street Trailer Park on the report of shots fired. Officers located several 9-mm casings in the park. Troy York was arrested for a parole violation.

CPD reported four citizen assists, one unwanted subject, four suspicious persons, one alarm response, three agency assists, Saturday.

CPD Officer Scott Phillips reported Friday the driver of a black SUV struck pedestrian John Shannon, no address provided, at Speedway Gas, 300 Central Ave., and then left, likely without the driver knowing someone had been struck. Shannon was not injured.

CPD reported one overdose, one unwanted subject, one alarm response, two suspicious persons, one threat, one citizen assist and one welfare check Friday.

Jennifer L. Ash, Rushville, reported Thursday a female driver of a silver Buick van had struck the front of her vehicle while parked in Kroger Plaza. The driver, Vicki Dixon,  was cited for driving without a license, operating a vehicle without financial responsibility and leaving the scene of an accident, Becker said.

Travis L. Dane, 401 W. 9th St., reported Thursday his city-owned trash Tote had been stolen, CPD Officer William Ammerman said.

Mark A. Lawrence, 802 Walnut St., reported Thursday his residence had been entered, Ammerman said.

Karen R. Isaacs, 1537 Eastern Ave., reported Thursday someone had attempted to etch something into her van’s paint, CPD Capt. Randy Bolos said.

Dr. Gary E. Weber, 123 Locust Drive, reported Thursday someone entered his residence stole cash, a credit card and checkbook, Phillips said.

CPD reported two agency assists, one battery, three suspicious persons, two verbal arguments, two welfare checks, one alarm response, three citizen assists and one vehicle identification number check Thursday.

Fire runs

Connersville Fire Department responded Monday to medical calls in the 700 block of Scott Street and the 500 block of Canyon Court and to a vehicle accident at Park Road and 24th Street.

CFD responded Sunday to an alarm in the 1900 block of Grand Avenue, to an electrical issue in the 1200 block of West 8th Street and to medical calls in the 500 block of Vine Street and the 600 block of West 32nd Street.

CFD responded Saturday to medical calls in the 400 block of West 17th Street, 2200 block of Grand Avenue and the 1100 block of Conwell Street, to a gas leak in the 500 block of West 30th Street, a false alarm in the 3600 block of Western Avenue and to a trash fire in the 2900 block of Iowa Avenue.

CFD responded Friday to a citizen assist in the 100 block of West 4th Street.
