Great crowd welcomes Thursday's Farmers Market

A few hundred people and a dozen or more vendors helped inaugurate the Thursday night edition of the Fayette County Farmers Market. Music and a bounce house, pictured, as well as a live radio remote added to the festivities at the courthouse parking lot at 5th Street and Central Avenue. The market willbe open from 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays and 5-8 p.m. Thursdays.

Among vendors set up at Thursday’s Farmers Marketwere Larissa Carson, standing at left, and Midge Snyder, seated. They were selling items made by church members to benefit the Blessing Boxes set up around town that are stocked with food for people who need it. Items for sale included handmade wooden toys, wash cloths and scrubbies and baked goods.
