Accidents

A Kia Soul driven by Gary L. Reese, Metamora, struck a Chrysler Sebring owned by Michael H. Ray, 1017 Grand Ave., that was parked on Sunday, Connersville Police Officer Josh Durstine said.

A Pontiac G6 driven by Tisa M. Turpin, Richmond, left the roadway in the 5000 block of South Indiana 1 Saturday due to water, causing the car to roll over before landing in a ditch. A 4-year-old passenger received minor cuts and was treated at the scene by Fayette County Emergency Medical Services and released, CPD Officer Clint Brown said.

Arrests

Brendan J. Weymouth, 19, 128 N. County Road 400-W., was arrested Sunday at 450 E. Base Road by Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Bobby Revalee on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated per se with a .15 or greater blood alcohol level. Weymouth was lodged in the Fayette County Jail with no bond amount listed.

Hayden J. Croucher, 18, Richmond, was arrested Sunday in the 4700 block of Western Avenue by Brown on charges of resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, carrying an unlawful handgun and public intoxication. Croucher was lodged in FCJ with no bond.

Wilbur Cramblet, 47, Hamilton, Ohio, was arrested Saturday at Robinson’s Whitewater River Campground, 1618 S. Indiana 121, by FCSD Deputy Justin Gray on a charge of public intoxication. Cramblet was lodged in FCJ with no bond amount listed.

Matthew Pickett, 49, Cambridge City, was arrested Friday on County Road 440-N. by FCSD Capt. Billy Wayson on a warrant charge of body attachment. Pickett was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $300 bond.

A 9-year-old juvenile was arrested Friday by CPD Detective Dax Gunder on a charge of criminal recklessness.

A 12-year-old juvenile was arrested Friday by Gunder on charge of criminal recklessness and theft.

Blotter

CPD reported one battery Monday.

Devin A. Thomas, 1212 W. 12th St., reported Sunday a Rock Island 200 .38 revolver had been stolen from his residence sometime in the past three months. Deputies from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department reported Monday arresting Kevin Fehl, no address provided, who had the gun in his possession, CPD Officer Kyle Miller said.

Mark D. Ketcham, 719 E. Village Creek Drive, reported Sunday his Toyota Corolla had been backed into while parked at Walmart, 4200 Western Ave. A review of the store’s security camera indicated the damage occurred someplace other than Walmart, CPD Officer Chad Catey said.

CPD Officer Josh Tudor reported Sunday receiving a call of a man exposing himself in the Walmart parking lot to another man. After stopping the vehicle at the old Indiana State Police Post on Vine Street, he learned no exposure took place.

Mariah C.J. Cain, Carthage, reported Sunday a window had been broken, tail light damaged, wiper unit broken and hard top smashed while parked at 1922 Vermont Ave., Durstine said.

A resident of the 800 block of Lee Street reported Sunday two men had entered his residence with a gun where his son played video games demanding some weed that had been left there. The son said the weed was across the street. The investigation is continuing, Catey said.

CPD reported one fireworks call, one unwanted subject, one agency assist, two batteries, one juvenile issue, two citizen assists, one medical call, one threat, one alarm response, one vehicle identification number check, one welfare check and three verbal arguments Sunday.

Miller reported cleaning up from a fallen tree at 2410 Park Road.

Brown responded Saturday at about 9:30 p.m. to the call of a man walking in the middle of the road in the 4700 block of Western Avenue. The man, later identified as Hayden J. Croucher, was located. He allegedly refused to leave the roadway and began to make a move to his pocket, resulting in Brown pulling his firearm and ordering him to put his hands up, which the Croucher did. With the help of CPD Officer Joe Becker, the officers placed him handcuffs. Croucher tried to reach to his pocket, which Brown determined contained a gun. In the struggle, the man had been cut so EMS responded to treat the wound. After transporting Croucher to Fayette Regional Health System, he grabbed the nurse so Brown used his Taser to gain control. Croucher was transported to FCJ.

CPD reported one medical call, three fireworks calls, two citizen assists, one agency assist, two suspicious persons and two unwanted subjects Saturday.

Becker reported Friday separating two dogs fighting who would not separate in a residence at 709 Scott St. by using his Taser. Fayette County Animal Shelter assisted.

Karlene M. Gray, 2010 Indiana Ave., reported Friday her Ford Edge had been struck by rocks thrown by a man operating a string trimmer, CPD Officer Larry Kuhn said.

Chad A. Sanders, 726 Maple St., reported Friday his truck had been entered and the steering wheel damaged, Durstine said.

CPD reported one overdose, two fireworks calls, four citizen assists, one alarm response, two juvenile issues, one medical call, one suspicious person, one verbal argument, two welfare checks and three agency assists Friday.

Fire runs

Connersville Fire Department responded Monday to medical calls in the 2000 block of Ohio Avenue, 6000 block of Industrial Avenue and the 1000 block of East 5th Street.

Everton, Bentonville and Glenwood volunteer fire departments responded Monday to a structure fire at 4662 S. County Road 50-W.

CFD responded Sunday to a vehicle accident at Grand Avenue and 20th Street, a lockout in the 400 block of Beech Street, an open burn in the 3300 block of Virginia Avenue and to medical calls in the 2300 block of Lincoln Avenue, 400 block of West 17th Street, 1000 block of East 5th Street, 700 block of South Fountain Street, 3100 block of Wayne Avenue, 2600 block of Grand Avenue and the 2000 block of Ohio Avenue.

CFD responded Saturday to an alarm in the 4700 block of Western Avenue and to a vehicle accident in the 5000 block of North Indiana 1. 

CFD responded Friday to medical calls in the 3200 block of Waterloo Road, 1400 block of West 7th Street and the 1200 block of Flint Drive.
