Thousands view fireworks from Roberts Park

Probably the only place near Roberts Park with any vacant seating for the Independence Day fireworks was the amphitheater, pictured, where the roof gets in the way of the view. Thousands of vehicles filled the park and nearby parking areas along Park Road, and people in lawn chairs watched from as far south as Showtime Cinemas and north out into the countryside along Waterloo Road. The Connersville Jaycees lit off a stunning display of pyrotechnics at about 10 p.m., keeping a July 4th tradition of long-standing.
