Why did you choose to be a part of the CHS ECHS Program? I wanted to be part of ECHS because it set out a precise list of classes I needed, which motivate me to stay on track in high school.

Some of the supports you have received as a member of the ECHS program: The SRT meetings have helped me stay organized and keep me up to date on the things needed to be completed.

How has ECHS has prepared you to be successful in college: ECHS has encouraged me to take college classes in order to save money and spend less time in college. The college classes I have taken provided a realistic experience which will help me adapt easier when I am actually in college.

Advice you would like to share with current and future ECHS students: Future ECHS students should stay on track with their pathway and take advantage of all classes offering dual credit because it will make college easier and faster.

The Early College High School program offered at Connersville High School gives students a head start on completing college. ECHS is open to all students, but are tailored for first-generation college students, minorities, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students underrepresented in postsecondary education. These articles, provided by Michael Thompson, ECHS coordinator, will spotlight students enrolled in the program.
