4-H Club News

Jackson Hotshots

The Jackson Hotshots 4-H Club had their second meeting on April 11 at the Everton Community Building. There were 24 members and eight guests present.

The meeting was called to order by Ethan Jennings, vice president. The American pledge was led by Ethan Jennings, and the 4-H pledge was led by Eli Barger. Group singing was Row Row Row Your Boat led by Jayme Williamson and Rylee Ruf. Minutes from the last meeting were read by Sydney Grounds. The treasurer’s report was given by Lisa Downard.

New business was the installation of 2019 club officers. Other items of business were distribution of club program books, record sheets and project requirements, and an information page from the Extension office. A flyer for the Everton Lions Club Chicken Dinner to be held on May 5 was distributed, and members were encouraged to help at that event as part of our club’s community service activities.

Demonstrations were given by Peyton Gabbard on rabbit, Lisa Downard on scrapbook, Lacy Downard on entomology, and Eli Barger on fine arts. The Health and Safety report was given by Eli Barger on heat safety.

Recreation was color tag led by Ty McMullen, Peyton Gabbard and Violet Ruf.

Refreshments were served by the Ruf, Jennings and Allen families. Members were reminded the next meeting will be 7 p.m. April 25 at the Everton Community Building. Meeting was adjourned.
