College plans: Butler University, for pharmacy

Extracurricular activities: National Honor Society, French Honor Society, basketball, tennis. Concert band for three years.

Why did you choose to be a part of the CHS ECHS Program? I am earning college credit in high school, which will save me a lot of money.

Some of the supports you have received as a member of the ECHS program: The ECHS meetings have help me stay on track to completing my pathway. Previous ECHS members have shared their experiences and given advice to be successful.

How has ECHS has prepared you to be successful in college: ECHS has prepared me to be successful in college by allowing me to take college classes. The experience in these college classes will prepare me to take classes on a college campus.

Advice you would like to share with current and future ECHS students: Don’t procrastinate and do your best in all of the dual credit classes you are taking so you can earn the college credit.

The Early College High School program offered at Connersville High School gives students a head start on completing college. ECHS is open to all students, but are tailored for first-generation college students, minorities, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students underrepresented in postsecondary education. These articles, provided by Michael Thompson, ECHS coordinator, will spotlight students enrolled in the program.
