Fair queen contest  seeks entrants

Registrations are being accepted for this year’s Fayette County Free Fair Queen Contest.

The deadline for sponsorship is May 24 or until 20 contestants are registered, whichever comes first. The queen contest will take place at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Robert E. Wise Center for Performing Arts at Connersville High School. Members of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority are coordinating the contest.

Hemp farming will be meeting topic

GREENFIELD — Indiana Farmers Union– Hemp Chapter is hosting a Hemp Farming Q&A Session from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hancock County Purdue Extension office, 802 Apple St., Greenfield.

Marty Mahan, president of the Hemp Chapter, will be presenting and answering questions about hemp farming in Indiana as well as sharing knowledge to help people decide if it is a viable option for them. Registrations can be made through Eventbrite, with links are available via Facebook on the Indiana Farmers Union-Hemp Chapter page. 

Reservations are requested as space is limited. The event is free but donations are suggested to help cover minor expenses. For information, contact Melissa Bowyer, 317-385-2952.

Crosspointe Easter Egg Hunt

Crosspointe Biker Church, 1130 E. Baseline Road, will host an Easter egg hunt Saturday at 1 p.m. Five thousand eggs will be available for kids throughout the area of all ages to find. The congregation will celebrate Easter Sunday at 9 and 11 a.m. Everyone who attends will get a ticket to possibly win a 55-inch flat screen television, a five burner stainless steel grill or one of eight bicycles.
