Roxy Isaacs is Connersville Middle School’s seventh-grade Spartan of the Week for the week of April 15. Roxy is the sister of Dillen Isaacs.

Roxy was nominated by Amy King, math teacher, for exhibiting the 3 R’s (respect, responsibility and ready to learn). King stated, “Roxy is a great student. She is willing to participate during the lessons. Roxy also is willing to help other classmates when they have a question. She has a great attitude in class. It is a pleasure having her in class.”

At CMS, Roxy is a member of the choir. She is on the honor roll and received a perfect attendance award for the first nine weeks.

Outside of school, Roxy participates in the Baptist Temple church youth group. In her spare time, Roxy enjoys watching Netflix and playing with her dogs.

Roxy’s favorite class is English. After high school, she plans to attend college and become a doctor. When asked what she liked best about being a student at CMS, Roxy said, “I like coming to school to see friends and having free time to walk around.”

Edie Judd is CMS’s eighth-grade Spartan of the Week for the week of April 15. Edie is the daughter of Rob and Carolyn Judd.

Edie was nominated by Jennifer Clifford, choir teacher, for exhibiting the 3 R’s (respect, responsibility and ready to learn). Clifford stated, “Edie is always on task and helps fellow students and teachers whenever she can. She is a leader in her choir class and is kind and friendly to all.”

At CMS, Edie is a member of Team Lead, ECHS, Honor Society, choir, Energizers, and a Green Coat, media center assistant. She is on the CMS honor roll. This year, she has placed first place in the talent show, earned a gold medal at the Solo and Ensemble competition, received the MVP for Energizers as well as the all A’s award at the winter sports awards.

Outside of school, Edie participates in a traveling soccer team, dance classes at Sandee’s Danz Explosion, Girl Scouts, the Alquina UMC youth group, Spartanettes, and the Made New Band. In her spare time, she enjoys sleeping, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her cat.

Her favorite classes are English and choir. After high school, Edie plans to attend college and become a teacher or pediatrician.

When asked what she liked best about being a student at CMS, Edie said, “I like being able to see friends and talk to them during lunch.” Her advice to seventh graders is, “turn in your homework.”
