Local artist places in area show

Enola Delaney of Connersville has won third place in a Senior Art Exhibit and Competition sponsored by LifeStream and IU East.

Fifty-five artists from east central Indiana entered the show.

The first place winner, Don Pressley, submitted a charcoal drawing of Willie Nelson. Second place went to Kathryn Bird, who painted a beautiful acrylic picture. Delaney’s third place entry is a ceramic sculpture. 

The LifeStream and IU East Senior Art Exhibit will be on display through Friday, May 3, at Room 912 Gallery, 912 E. Main St., Richmond, where they may be viewed Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and Wednesday-Friday from 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. 

LifeStream is an Area Agency on Aging working in 12 counties including Fayette.

Stick a Fork in Cancer planned

Stick a Fork in Cancer is a way to fight the disease and have a meal. Four local restaurants will give som of their proceeds for a period of time this month to the American Cancer Society’s Fayette County’s Way to the Cure “Research” to fund research and education.

Hardee’s will make a donation for purchases from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19; Arby’s from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 21; Papa John’s Pizza from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Wednesday, March 27; and Brian’s Bistro  from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 30.
