Why did you choose to be a part of the CHS ECHS Program? It gave me the opportunity to have one year of college done by the time I graduate high school.

Some of the supports you have received as a member of the ECHS program: The opportunity to go on college visits and college fairs to help me decide where I would like to go after I graduate.

How has ECHS has prepared you to be successful in college: By letting me take college classes that gave me insight on how a typical college class runs. This has prepared me for future classes I might take in college.

Advice you would like to share with current and future ECHS students: Try to get a study hall in your schedule. Study hall gave me more time during the school day to get homework done. It gave me the opportunity to ask teachers questions about homework or quizzes and tests.

The Early College High School program offered at Connersville High School gives students a head start on completing college. ECHS is open to all students, but are tailored for first-generation college students, minorities, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students underrepresented in postsecondary education. These articles, provided by Michael Thompson, ECHS coordinator, will spotlight students enrolled in the program.
