Abbigale Slone is Connersville Middle School’s seventh-grade Spartan of the Week for the week of Feb. 11. Abbigale is the daughter of Joe Slone and Rebecca Lathem.

Abbigale was nominated by the Eagles team for being respectful, responsible and ready to learn. The Eagles teachers stated, “Abbigale is a hard worker, friendly and helpful in the classroom. She is full of CMS spirit both on and off the basketball court. She is a team player! The Eagles enjoy having Abbigale on the team!”

At CMS, Abbigale is a member of the choir, basketball team, film club and crochet club. She is on the honor roll and received a perfect attendance award for the first and second nine weeks. Last year, Abbigale received the school board academic achievement award.

Outside of school, Abbigale participates on a soccer team. In her spare time, she enjoys coloring and playing on her phone.

Abbigale’s favorite class is math. After high school, she plans to go to college. When asked what she liked best about being a student at CMS, Abbigale said, “I have different options for lunch and the teachers are always really nice.”

Paige Dafler is CMS’s eighth-grade Spartan of the Week for the week of Feb. 11. Paige is the daughter of Nick and Charlotte Dafler.

Paige was nominated by Jennifer Clifford, choir director, for being respectful, responsible and ready to learn.  Clifford stated, “Paige is diligent, hardworking and kind. She is a leader in the soprano section of her choir class and sets a great example for those around her.”

At CMS, Paige is a member of the choir, volleyball team, ECHS, Team Lead and track and field team. Paige is on the honor roll and received the all-A’s award for volleyball at the fall sports awards. Last year, she received the Principal’s Award and school board academic achievement award.

Outside of school, Paige is a member of 4-H, soccer and St. Gabriel Church. In her spare time, she enjoys going to social events, hanging out with family, and singing.

Paige’s favorite classes are social studies and choir. After high school, she plans to attend college to become a lawyer.

When asked what she liked best about being a student at CMS, Paige said, “The thing I like the best at the middle school is how you get a break between classes. I like how you can give your mind a break.”

Her advice to seventh-graders is, “Don’t fret over everything; just do you work and turn it in.”
