Maple Syrup Day to be held Saturday

Cope Environmental Center’s Family Maple Syrup Day is from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday. Bring the family.

Family Maple Syrup Day takes participants on a journey through time as they explore how maple syrup has been made for hundreds of years. The morning will end with a pancake brunch with handmade syrup from CEC’s property.

The Cope Center is at 1730 Airport Road, Centerville. Program cost is $5 per adult/$3 per child for CEC members and $3 more for non-members. Contact CEC staff to register at 765-855-3188 or s.mccurdy@copeenvironmental.org. Registration and payment are required.

Special Olympics Polar Plunge is Feb. 23

LIBERTY — Special Olympics will benefit from a Polar Plunge at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Whitewater Memorial State Park, 1418 S. State Road 101, Liberty. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m.

An After Bash Splash is at the 4-H Building following the plunge. There will be a silent auction, a free meal for plungers, prizes and awards, and sponsors will be recognized. Meal is $5 donation for all others attending.

The cost is $75 for adults, which includes a long sleeve Polar Plunge shirt, or $50 for students with ID, no t-shirt.

People can donate any amount and not plunge. Checks can be made out to Special Olympics Indiana-Liberty Polar Plunge. Send donations to Wayne County Special Olympics, PO Box 42, Webster, IN 47392.

Bentonville Cemetery meeting

The Bentonville Cemetery Association will have its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at the Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department. The public may attend.
