Public invited to meet lawmakers

The public is invited to Saturday’s Legislative Breakfast hosted by the Fayette County School Corporation board.

The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the Whitewater Career Center, 1300 Spartan Drive. Light refreshments will be available.

The meeting will involve state Sen. Jean Leising, Sen. Jeff Raatz and Rep. Cindy Ziemke. They will be conferring with those attending about educational issues that are in front of the Indiana General Assembly this year.

Schools seek Hall of Fame nominees

The Fayette County School Corporation is looking for retired or deceased educators to put in its Education Hall of Fame.

To be selected, a nominee must have been a certified educator from the Fayette County School Corporation who has been retired for at least one year or is deceased. He or she must have been a teacher or administratior at least 15 years, including at least five years in FCSC. The nomination form also asks for the person’s noteworthy contributions.

Nomination forms may be obtained at the school administration building, 1401 Spartan Drive; from any of the school building offices; online at www.fayettein.schooldesk.net; or by calling the administration office, 765-825-2178, to request a form.

Nominations will be accepted during February. The Hall of Fame induction will be in June.
