Schools offer meals during holiday

The Fayette County School Corporation will be hosting the 7th annual Winter Break Meal Program starting Dec. 26.

Meals will be provided Wednesday through Friday, Dec. 26-Dec. 28 and Jan. 2-Jan. 4.

Lunch will be free to anyone 18 or under. They will be served on the Kids Stop Café Bus, a specially modified school bus that has seating for children eating meals.

“We get to use our Kids Stop Café bus and take meals to the locations provided,” Rachel O’Brien, Fayette County Schools food service director, said. “Hopefully, we can get to more kids this way.”

The Wednesday menu includes chicken patty, carrots, strawberry cup; Thursday, cheeseburger, celery sticks, peach cup; and Friday, cheese pizza, cucumbers, applesauce cup. Each meal comes with a choice of fat-free chocolate milk or 1 percent white milk.

Locations and times are listed.

• Conner Court: noon-12:30 p.m.

• Grandview Elementary: 12:40-1 p.m.

• Frazee Elementary: 1:10-1:30 p.m.

• Elephant Hill Trailer Park: 1:40-2 p.m.
