CHS Christmas pops concert is Sunday

The Connersville High School Choir will be perform a holiday pops concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Robert E. Wise Center for Performing Arts at the school.

The performance, directed by Roger Tyler and choreographed by Sandee Toschlog, should have those attending singing along and feeling the Christmas spirit.

Monday, the vocal jazz choir class practiced for the big show.

Seniors Elizabeth Waterman, Michael Biehl, Ethan Boggs, Joe Crawford, Maddie Powell are excited about performing Sunday. 

“We are preparing for our Christmas performance which is Sunday,” Waterman said. “We started practicing about the first of October.”

Boggs said, “I think we have all been doing this for a long time and we really enjoy it, we love doing this program, I myself love Christmas songs.”

Four classes will be performing and each class will perform together for a few numbers. According to the seniors, each class has one to two songs each. The performance will consist of all holiday music.

Tyler “always knows how to push us because he has high expectations,” Powell said.

“Sandee Toschlog has taught dance for over 50 years years, she does all the choreography. There are 11 solos in the program,” Tyler said. “The choir will be accompanied by Julie Mahuron on piano, Darrell Black on drums, Jaylen Gaddis on guitar and the CHS band will be playing in the finale.”
