Ribbon-cutting planned Thursday

The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon Thursday at Sanders Jewelry, as part of the store’s official grand opening.

The store is located at 606½ Central Ave, on the second floor above Fayette County Republican Headquarters. It opened for business in that location on Nov. 19. The community is invited to attend the grand opening. Light refreshments will be available.

Sanders Jewelers was established in Richmond in 1941. It is owned by Ralph and Vivian (Sanders) Himelick. For information, call 765-962-5050.

Bazaar set at Jaycees building

A Crafty Christmas Holiday Bazaar will be 8 a.m.-3 pm. Saturday at the Jaycees building, 710 W. 35th St.

Several area crafters will have one-of-a-kind items. Free admission. Food available.

Winter heating bill help is available

Income-eligible consumers who need assistance with winter heating bills may apply help through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The intake office for Fayette County is the Interlocal Community Action Program-Fayette County office, 717 W. 21st St. Suite 1204, which is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; phone 765-692-0236; email icap@icapcaa.org or online, www.icapcaa.org. 

Each of Indiana’s 92 counties has an intake office, with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s website offering a directory. Consumers may also call 2-1-1 to find local offices and learn about additional options for financial assistance.
