Man dies in motorcycle accident

A man is dead after a motorcycle and deer collided on Alquina Road Sunday.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Bobby Revalee investigated the accident that occurred shortly after noon.

Michael England, 62, Liberty, died at Fayette Regional Health System as a result of injuries received in the accident.

England had been traveling west in the 1900 block of Alquina Road when the deer entered the roadway and collided with his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He lost control of the bike, causing it to slide several feet before coming to rest on the south side of the road.

England became dislodged from the motorcycle and slid to the north side of the road.

He was not wearing a helmet.

Fayette County Emergency Medical Services transported England to Fayette Regional, where he died.

A medical helicopter had been called to to transport England for treatment but it was not required, Revalee said.

The Everton Volunteer Fire Department, Connersville Fire Department and Connersville Police Department assisted at the scene of the accident.
