Dec. library events listed

The Fayette County Public Library has a month full of free events and new items added to their library including books and movies.

There are 10 new bestsellers on hand, along with 24 new movies, three new audiobooks, 30 new children’s books, and 77 other new books.

The new bestsellers this week include “Killing the SS: The Hunt for the Worst War Criminals in History,” “Kingdom of the Blind: A Chief Inspector Gamache Novel,” and “Come, Let Us Adore Him: A Daily Advent Devotional.” The new movies this week include “Coco,” “Muppet Babies: Time To Play!,” and “Lady and the Tramp.”

Most activities require pre-registration. Register by phone at 765-827-0883, online at online.fcplibrary.lib.in.us/evanced/lib/eventcalendar.asp, or at the library, 828 N. Grand Ave.

Events for December

Dec. 5: 4-5 p.m., LEGO Brain Puzzle. Participants will fill a shape with LEGO pieces.

Dec. 6: 4-5 p.m., Kids Paint. Create an acrylic masterpiece of a sleepy Arctic penguin. Step-by-step instructions will be given. Free 8x10 canvas will be used.

Dec. 10: 1:30-2:30 p.m. Christian Fiction Discussion of the book “A plain and fancy Christmas” by Cynthia Keller, and a dessert. Copies of the book are available at the adult circulation desk.

Dec. 12: 4-5 p.m., Reindeer Games (grades K-6). Boys and girls grades K-6 will have games, a craft and magic reindeer food at this holiday activity.

Dec. 12: 5:30-6:30 p.m., monthly Mystery Book Club. Copies of the book are available at the adult circulation desk. No registration needed.

Dec. 13: 4-5 p.m. Coding Club (grades 3-6). Learn to code your own notepad.

Dec. 14: 11:11 a.m.-2:11 p.m. Discovery Kids: Learning Letters. Explore the letter “Y.” Decorate cookies to enjoy and do other activities associated with the holiday.
