A Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by Michael England, 62, Liberty, struck a deer in the 1900 block of Alquina Road. England died from his injuries, Fayette County Sherlff’s Department Sgt. Bobby Revalee said.

A southbound Ford Ranger driven by Debra S. Mathews, Brownsville, on Western Avenue near West 30th Street apparently crossed the center line and struck a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Brenda Underwood, 127 W. 12th St., Saturday afternoon. The Ranger then struck a stopped Kia Sportage driven by Jason L. Strunk, Hamilton, Ohio, in the east turn lane. Three ambulances frm Fayette County Emergency Medical Services took several injured persons to Fayette Regional Health System. Mathews appeared to be under the influence of a medication, so blood was drawn at the hospital, Connersville Police Officer Jason Tudor said. Connersville Fire Department, FCSD and Fayette County Emergency Management Agency assisted.


John W. Rose, 34, 806 W. 22nd St., was arrested Sunday on West 21st Street by FCSD Deputy Justin Gray on charge of battery. Rose was lodged in the Fayette County Jail with no bond amount listed.

Alva V. Brown II, 43, Evansville, Wyoming, was arrested Saturday at FCJ by Jail Officer Josh Sparks on a warrant charge of probation violation. Brown was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $5,000 bond.


CPD Sgt. Brian Evans reported Monday being called to 1065 E. 5th St. Apt. 13 by Michael J. Bunner of that address who found a deceased female in a bedroom. In the room, he found a white powder, syringe and spoon. Investigation continues by the detective division and the Fayette County coroner’s office.

CPD reported one vehicle identification number check and FCSD reported one agency assist and one lockout Monday.

Debra S. Hurley, 104 Ridge Road, reported Sunday a black Chevrolet Silverado driven by a male drove onto her property, dumped a sink in the creek and left, CPD Sgt. Kevin Perry said.

CPD reported four welfare checks, three citizen assists, one VIN check and two alarm responses. FCSD reported one unwanted subject, one alarm response and one battery Sunday.

James L. Burns, 6056 S. County Road 100-E., reported Saturday someone entered a residence at 521 W. 18th St., cut wires and took an electric motor, CPD Officer Josh Durstine said.

CPD reported three citizen assists and one agency assist Saturday. FCSD reported one medical call, two citizen assists, one agency assist, one unwanted subject and one lockout Saturday.

Fire runs

Connersville Fire Department responded Monday to a dumpster fire in the 1200 block of West 3rd Street.

Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department responded responded Monday to a medical call in the 8000 block of North County Road 250-W.

CFD responded Sunday to a vehicle accident in the 1900 block of Alquina Road, a utility line down in the 200 block of West 32nd Street and medical calls in the 400 block of Vine Street and the 1000 block of East 5th Street.

CFD responded Saturday to a citizen assist in the 2800 block of Indiana Avenue, a vehicle accident at Western Avenue and 30th Street, rubbish fire in the 3000 block of Ohio Avenue and an electrical issue in the 400 block of West 32nd Street.
