Why did you choose to be a part of the CHS ECHS Program? Because it would guide me in making the most of my high school curriculum and would prepare me for college.

Some of the supports you have received as a member of the ECHS program: Participating in the National College Fair, a college tour at IU East and opportunities to see my teachers for additional help using our ECHS-issued SRT passes.

How has ECHS has prepared you to be successful in college: By providing classes with similar criteria and environment. I have taken most of the college classes offered at the high school and will take the knowledge and skills I obtained to college.

Advice you would like to share with current and future ECHS students: While the workload can be demanding, there are a myriad of ways where you can benefit from joining the ECHS program. CHS has a lot to offer academic wise, and ECHS helps organize the information so that it will benefit you and your aspirations.

The Early College High School program offered at Connersville High School gives students a head start on completing college. ECHS is open to all students, but are tailored for first-generation college students, minorities, and socioeconomically disadvantaged students underrepresented in postsecondary education. These articles, provided by Michael Thompson, ECHS coordinator, will spotlight students enrolled in the program.
