News-Examiner

With the General Election approaching on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and early voting starting today, the Connersville News-Examiner is starting its candidate profiles.

The News-Examiner asked candidates in the local contested offices to answer a questionnaire and provide a head and shoulders photo of themselves. Today, profiles of the candidates for Fayette County Sheriff and Fayette County Clerk of Courts are published on Page A4.

The News-Examiner intends for the profiles to give voters an introduction to the people who are running for public office. The newspaper intends to provide additional coverage as issues develop before the election.

The profiles are composed of candidate answers to the questionnaires. Some will have been edited for brevity. The length is determined by what the candidate wrote.

Absentee voting starts today in the first floor conference room at the Fayette County Courthouse, 401 Central Ave. Voting is from from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and on two Saturdays, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3. Early voting concludes at noon Monday, Nov. 5.

Polling places in the county will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

For information, contact the Fayette County clerk of courts office, 765-825-1813.
