The Connersville News-Examiner begins a series of pre-election candidate profiles today. The General Election is Tuesday, Nov. 6, and early voting starts today.

The News-Examiner asked candidates in the local contested offices to answer a questionnaire and provide a head and shoulders photo of themselves. Their answers will be printed in these profiles. Some will have been edited for brevity but there has been no attempt by the News-Examiner to make each article the same length. The length is determined by what the candidate wrote.

Today’s profiles focus on the Fayette County Sheriff and the Fayette County Clerk of Courts.

Absentee voting takes place in the first floor conference room at the Fayette County Courthouse, 401 Central Ave. Voting is from from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and on two Saturdays, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3. Early voting concludes at noon Monday, Nov. 5.

Polling places in the county will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

For information, contact the Fayette County clerk of courts office, 765-825-1813.
