On the market

The Fayette County Farmers Market is known for its produce vendors, but one of them comes from a farm that was established when Indiana was only four years old.

Oak Hawk sells produce from Arnold Farms at the Farmers Market. Arnold Farms specializes in produce that is grown without the use of chemicals.

“The farm was founded in 1820,” said Hawk. “I’ve only been involved with the farm since last year.”

Some of the produce offered by the Rush County farm includes cucumbers, tomatoes, cherries, peppers, lettuce and onions. Occasionally, the company offers baked goods for sale at various farmers markets.

More information about the farm can be found at facebook.com/ArnoldFarms1820.

The Fayette Couny Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturdays at the county courthouse parking lot in the 400 block of Central Avenue.
