Roberta Brown Rasner Cummings

Roberta Brown Rasner Cummings, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018, at Ashford Place Health Campus.

She was born on January 8, 1930, in Willailla, Kentucky, and is the daughter of the late Russell W. Brown and Emma Pearl Purcell Brown.

On July 17, 1954, she married Beve W. “Bill” Rasner Jr. Together they owned and operated Rasner’s Motel in Shelbyville. He passed away in April 1981. They had one son, William Bryan Rasner.

She later married her present husband, Forest Cummings, on November 11, 2002.

Roberta was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #346, and was a worthy matron from 1976-1977.

Along with her husband and son, she is survived by a sister, Margaret (husband Richard) Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Beve W. “Bill” Rasner Jr., she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Brown, and Rebecca Lucille Malone, and two brothers, Russell W. Brown and Joe Brown.

Visitation for Roberta will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, from 11:00am until 1:00pm, at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm, at the funeral home, with Reverend Alan Harris officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
