Organization Reports

Representatives of Covering Kids & Families of Indiana explained their program at Monday’s Connersville Rotary Club meeting. The program helps people obtain health insurance coverage. Pictured, from left, are club president Brian Durham, Erica Hunter and Karina Smith, who work in the program, and Gary O’Neal, the club program chairman. Rotary Club meets at noon Mondays at First Presbyterian Church, 700 Central Ave.

Fayette Garden Club

Fayette Garden Club members toured the Allisonville Nursery in Fishers on May 18. Fifteen members visited over lunch at Sahm’s Restaurant. They visited the nursery to view the selection of annuals, perennials and landscape plants.

In June, members toured the Richmond Rose Garden at Glen Miller Park. A garden volunteer served as a guide to explain its history, its landscaping design and sculptures. She shared the many varieties planted in each bed.

The July 20 meeting will be a tour of the local gardens of Mary Dalton and Jack Bunyard. Guests are always welcome to join us by contacting any Garden Club member.

Eta Pi Kappa

Eta Pi Kappa Sorority met June 25 at the shelter in Roberts Park for a guest party, with 16 members present. Mary Austin attended as a guest.

Dena House called the meeting to order with the sorority prayer.

Hostesses Mary Abel, Sheri McKinney and Carmen Garrison furnished fried chicken. Everyone brought a dish for a social party.

Homemade articles were brought by Cena Graves and Tami Pitcher and won by Dena House and Marilyn Fink. It was advised everyone put in extra money for the baskets at the next meeting since we did not do it this meeting.

The next meeting will be a business meeting and food drive on July 9. Homemade articles will be brought by Sue Guerin and Tammy Pitcher.
