Friends of the Library will feature a travelogue presented by Carla Beard at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, in the Fayette County Public Library meeting room, 828 N. Grand Ave.

Beard will share her experiences travelling in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa. She is an amateur photographer who was able to capture some exotic wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, elephants, lions, leopards, and ostriches, as well as the unique plants and trees of the continent. From Victoria Falls through the Kalahari Desert to the lights of Cape Town, come and see the rich diversity of southern Africa.

The public may attend this presentation, a free program sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Friends of the Library continues to search for individuals in the community willing to share pictures, slides, video and commentary about their travels. Anyone willing to present a travelogue can call the library or Diane Pflum at 765-825-2200.

The FOL Book Sale is scheduled for June 13-16. The private sale for FOL members only will be on June 12. The library is accepting gently used books and materials for this sale, and everyone is invited to become a member of the Friends to help support the library and its endeavors.
