Individuals listed in the arrest logs are considered innocent until proven guilty. The preliminary charges and bonds may be changed when a case goes to court.


A Buick Centra driven by Meredith J. Watkins, 413 Canyon Pkwy., and a Chevrolet Traverse driven by Amanda L. Becker, 215 S. Gray Road, were involved in an accident Tuesday at Summit Avenue and 3rd Street, Connersville Police Officer Brad Rosser said.

A Ford Windstar driven by David Lutz, 212 Spring Hill, and a GMC C1500 truck driven by Thea Chapman, 713 Grand Ave., were involved in an accident Tuesday at Grand Avenue and South 1st Street. Neither driver had a valid license nor vehicle insurance. Lutz fled but was located by CPD Officer Marc Koons and Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Gray. Lutz was arrested at his residence by Koons on a warrant charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated per se with .15 or above blood alcohol level. Lutz was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $7,500 bond. Lutz was also arrested on warrant charges of criminal trespass and public intoxication. He was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $6,000 bond. Lutz was also arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident and lodged in FCJ in lieu of $1,000 bond. Chapman and her passenger complained of pain. Fayette County Emergency Medical Services transported them to Fayette Regional Health System, CPD Sgt. Kevin Perry said.


Tony W. St. Clair, 36, 3507 Grand Ave. Apt. 7, was arrested Wednesday in the 500 block of Grand Avenue by CPD Officer Josh Durstine on a charge operating under the influence of a controlled substance. St. Clair was lodged in the Fayette County Jail with no bond amount listed.

Douglas J. Johnson, 19, 226 W. 12th St., was arrested Tuesday at his residence by CPD Detective Dax Gunder on charges of aiding/inducing causing an offense and defrauding a financial institution. Johnson was lodged in the FCJ in lieu of $15,000 bond.

Nathaniel W. Roberts, 18, no address provided, was arrested Tuesday at 226 W. 12th St. by Gunder on charges of burglary, three counts of theft, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and defrauding a financial institution. Roberts was lodged in FCJ in lieu of $45,000 bond.


Tammy M. Floyd, 1467 E. 5th St. Apt. 9A, reported Tuesday her residence had been entered, ransacked and a few items taken, CPD Officer Marc Koons said.

Justin Brown, 720 Northside Court, reported Tuesday his residence had been entered and a lockbox taken, Perry said.

Melissa K. Cooksey, 3131 Wayne Ave., reported Tuesday her Dodge Ram truck had been stolen, Perry said.

Kailey L. Briar, 1083 Wellsview Road, reported Tuesday her vehicle had been struck while parked at 500 Eastern Ave. Video shows a Chevrolet pickup with a male driver struck the Briar vehicle and then backed up and drove away, CPD Officer Dean Rowland said.

Rebekah D. Mengedoht, 510 W. 10th St., reported Tuesday her vehicle had been entered by someone using the entry code and the ignition key, cash and her wallet had been taken. An attempt to use her bank card from the wallet had been made at the bank, Rosser said.

Janet Martin, 104 E. 16th St., reported Tuesday her parked vehicle had been struck and a mirror knocked off, Rowland said.

CPD reported four citizen assists, one verbal argument, one threat, three vehicle identification number checks, one juvenile issue Tuesday.

Fire runs

Connersville Fire Department responded Wednesday to medical calls in the 200 block of North Fountain Street, 500 block of Central Avenue and the 400 block of Eastern Avenue.

CFD responded Tuesday to medical calls in the 1200 block of Grand Avenue, 1000 block of East 5th Street and the 1000 block of West 10th Street and to a vehicle accident at Grand Avenue and South 1st Street.
