Looking Back

Pictured is the church at 211 East 4th Street in Connersville. The church building was constructed in 1826, making it the oldest house of worship in the city. Beginning this week, the church is finally coming down.

Beginning the third week of February 2021 the building at 211 East 4th street will begin to come down. Friendly Contracting and its owner Chad Friend are in charge of the task. For nearly 200 years this site has been the home to one church or another.

Every avenue has been explored to find a suitable use for the building to extend its life, but none have been found. The buildings walls are bulging and it is no longer safe or inhabitable. About 2015 the property was given to the neighboring body shop to teardown and extend their operations.
